Button Storm is a Chicago-based business run by me, Christine Renee, in a high-rise home office by the lake. I still do most of the work myself—from operating the button machines to packing up the orders and standing in line at the post office.

I've been making buttons since 2004 and sell my own one-of-a-kind creations on Etsy under the name ChristineRenee.

In early 2006 I started offering what I called the Design-It-Yourself Specials on Etsy. Because my customers were doing the work of printing and cutting out their own button circles, I could offer them at super cheap prices. It proved to be a very popular option, and I found that it was much more fun to make buttons for other people than I ever imagined it would be. I love sharing the creative process with my customers, and I think they enjoy being involved in a more hands-on way.

As my business grew with the popularity of the DIY Specials, I decided that I wanted to give my customers more options. Some people don't have the time or the inclination to print and cut out their own designs. So I started this Web site to offer more support and full-service custom choices.

But for those of you who were with me at the beginning, don't worry! I will still be offering the DIY Specials (as well as my one-of-a-kind buttons and other stuff) on Etsy.

Customer service is extremely important to me. I genuinely enjoy the creative partnership I have with my customers and work hard to get their orders just right. I especially love my repeat customers! (I have a tendency to give special treatment and extra goodies to them.)
